Toni Morrison Adoration
I just finished Toni Morrison's Tar Baby, and once again my mind was blown by this women's literary prowess. This is yet another Morrison novel that I'll need to read again, and again, in order to really soak up all of the allegory, poetry, and wisdom within it. After putting the book down, my subsequent thoughts were and are: How can I articulate (via design) my own understanding of the human experience and the beauty I see in it? How can I approach design as an artist, with the same sort of deep contemplation? And, how can I paint a picture with textiles and objects in place of words and metaphor?
